Hands the call to you when needed
When the customer needs to talk to you, the parrot transfers the call or leaves you a message.
A good receptionist knows when a call isn’t theirs to handle. So does the parrot: it resolves what it can and, when the caller needs a person, it transfers the call or leaves you a message with full context.
When it transfers a call
You set the rules. The most common ones are:
- The caller asks for it, for example if they insist on speaking to you.
- It’s an emergency of the kind you’ve flagged.
- It’s a complaint, which you’d rather handle personally.
- It’s a big sale, such as a large quote.
- The parrot can’t answer and the question can’t wait.
How the transfer works
- The parrot tells the caller it’s putting them through to someone on the team.
- It rings the phone you’ve chosen: the front desk, your mobile or whoever handles that topic.
- If you answer, you get the call and, in the app, the context of the conversation.
- If nobody answers, the parrot goes back to the caller, takes a note and tells them when you’ll call back.
What it does for your business
- Repair shops: a customer asking about their car reaches whoever is fixing it.
- Home services: a customer with a job in progress talks straight to the site lead.
- Clinics: questions that need a practitioner don’t go unanswered.
What to keep in mind
Transferring to an outside phone is an outbound call with a cost, so it’s part of your plan or your minutes balance. For security, calls can only be transferred to phones you’ve verified beforehand with a code.
Questions
Can it try several people? Yes, you can list several phones and the order to try them in.
What if I never want transfers? You can switch them off: the parrot will always take a note and you’ll get it in the summary.
